i finally had some time to do some more freehanding. came up with this design today in need of some calming and relaxation. what better idea than a kitty sleeping peacefully while the cherry blossom petals fall?

in honor of nyancat.cat updating to the romantic v-day nyan cat, today i decorated a valenyan cake! i may be the female duke nukem, but i still adore valentine’s day, and nyan cake makes it perfect! all hand-drawn in icing. i had an absolute blast decorating this one!

my first cake of valentine’s day! the look of white on white is a little risky…. next time i’ll probably do a different base. but i’m still happy with the look! when i have more time, the next variation will be even more horrifically sappy.

when i was a kid, i used to see those cupcake critters at the grocery store and think to myself, “that is supposed to be a cat, but that is like no cat i have ever seen.” so, my goal when i made this cupcake kitty was not only to make a recognizable cat, but an adorable, fluffy, pink one. can’t wait to make more of these in a variety of colors! this one i did turned out freakin’ cute.

this little guy is an all-icing sculpture of a kitten taking a little swim in a coffee cup. this was certainly a challenge, and while not as technically fine as i like my work, it still turned out cute.
at work, i designed and decorated entirely out of icing a nyanko-style kitten dressed as a cupcake. it turned out extra fucking cute. i’m proud.
